What the...!!!
Un lucru e clar, astia sunt oficial dementi si rupti de realitate.
Dupa ce lanseaza noul TL cu un design care a rupt orice prejudecata, acum vine cu masina asta fada si fara substanta.
Este absolut stearsa, nu spune nimic, nici o urma de agresivitate, nici macar cu X6 nu poate concura, care e oribilitatea intruchipata.
Si categroic asta va ramane parerea mea si peste 3-4-5 ani.

Meet the Acura ZDX concept, or shall we say, a very close to production version of the Japanese firm's forthcoming crossover that is due to go on sale in the States in the fall of 2009. While most of us were questioning BMW's decision to add the X6 in its lineup, the Honda folks quickly picked up the idea and came up with their own four-door coupe crossover - we know, it sounds ridiculous...


"The ZDX is truly a luxury performance coupe - plus," said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. "The emotional coupe styling coupled with a luxurious and dramatic interior and surprising versatility, allows the ZDX to define its own segment and attract an entirely new customer."

While we wouldn't actually fall in love with its exterior styling, we must admit that Acura's designers seem to have done a better job than their Bavarian counterparts. An interesting detail are the hidden rear door handles that are concealed in the C-pillar. Aside from a few minor details such as the headlamp and tail light housings, the exhaust tail pipes and quite possibly, the front bumper, don't expect to see other differences on the production model.

At 192.4 inches or 4887mm long, the ZDX prototype is less than two inches longer than the MDX (190.7 in.) but nearly 12 inches longer than the RDX (180.7 in. or 4590 mm). However, with a height of 61.8 inches, it's also around 7 and 4-inches respectively lower than its two crossover siblings.

Inside, the five-seater ZDX is virtually production ready though don't expect to see the hand-stitched leather dashboard and the two-tone trim, or at least not in the basic versions of the crossover. The prototype's cabin also features a panoramic glass roof which runs the entire length of the vehicle.

Acura said that this fall's production version of the ZDX will be powered by a V6 engine mated to an all-new, 6-speed automatic transmissio that drives all four-wheels through Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system.

Macar interiorul e mai reusit.
Oricat m-as uita la poze si as incerca sa ma impac cu designul, tot nu reusesc (TL e geniala in comparatie). Desi se presupunea a fi un vehicul aparte (orice ar zice lumea, masina nu a fost destinata sa concureze cu X6 niciodata, avand in vedere ca a fost lansata doar la 1 an distanta), designul totusi nu o ajuta. Pur si simplu, nu au vrut sa riste nimic. Din cate imi dau seama, nu FX a fost targetul si, RX-ul de la Lexus. Probabil de acolo va lua o felie mare.
Iar platforma este 100% MDX, nici macar nu au introdus VTEC-ul pe admisie si evacuare de la TL/RL. Asta e cam trist.
Un plus totusi pt cutia automata in 6 (desi tot nu e dublu-ambreiaj). Sper sa-si gaseasca drumul cat mai repede si in line-up-ul Honda/Acura. Mai mult de 6 viteze oricum sunt cam inutile.

Avand in vedere dimensiunile, se pare totusi ca intra mai mult pe felia lui EX, punand astfel in umbra un posibil urmas al lui RDX.
O decizie buna, daca ar fi fost sustinuta si de un design mai agresiv.

Dap, la interior nu e cu mult mai mare decit RDX. Dar nici o Acura nu exceleaza in clasa ei la spatiul interior (sau la portbagaj).

Ampatamentul e de 2.75 ceea ce seamana cu cel al lui TL mai degraba decit MDX. Mie imi pare un TL inaltat.

Design-ul interior mi se pare totusi subtire, consola centrala parca ar fi de la TL-ul vechi ca si calitate a fabricatiei...

No longer can we call the BMW X6 unique. Acura's ZDX concept, shown at the 2009 New York auto show, also mixes sports coupe DNA with that of a sports-utility.
In Acura-speak, this particular crossover segment is called `luxury performance coupe-plus.' According to Jeff Conrad, Acura's vice president of sales, the mix of sports coupe and SUV allows the RDX to create a "new" segment.

How `new' that segment is may be up for debate, but it's certainly carte blanche for Acura itself. Its previous crossovers looked decidedly truck-like, but the ZDX resembles a TSX sedan in most areas. The sloping fastback roof is breathtaking, and its tinted glass surface is seamlessly blended into the blacked-out rear valiance panel and taillights.
Designer Michelle Christensen says she wanted the ZDX's exterior to draw you into a rich interior, and we have to say she's succeeded. The sculpted instrument panel is a typical Acura design trait, but its two-tone scheme, trimmed in stitched leather, is nothing short of sumptuous.

What lurks beneath that interior is a bit of a mystery. Acura says the ZDX concept uses an all-aluminum V-6 with VTEC, a new six-speed automatic, and the brand's trademark SH-AWD system. We imagine a similar setup will make its way into the production ZDX, which reaches dealers this fall.

pote mai invata si ea de la de la designerul de la Opel, pentru tare mi-as mai dori un Astra(asta nou) cu motor dohc i-vtec...

Eu n-am vrut sa fac initial discriminari pe teme sexuale, dar daca ai inceput tu... Nu pot decat sa fiu de accord. Masina pare facuta de o femeie pt femei. Nu m-ar deranja, daca n-ar fi ruperea asta masiva de desingul celorlalte. Adica avem 5 lupi fiorosi care baga sperieti in tine cand ii vezi in retrovizoare si...chestia asta gen mielusel aerodinamic cocosat si inaltat. Daca n-ar fi avut grila si botul de yacht, n-as fi zis ca e Acura.
De vandut, se va vinde bine, muuuult mai bine decat RDX, asta e clar (apropo, si RDX s-a vrut cu target preponderent feminin).

Masina aia e absolut oribila, cand credeam ca nu se poate mai urat decat X6 ... au venit preferatii nostri si au scos asta. Mare pacat, unde-s liniile alea ascutite si agresive?
