      Honda launches upgraded Brio

Honda Cars India, on Tuesday, launched upgraded versions of its hatchback Brio with new features, including driver seat height adjuster and a rear windshield defogger, at prices ranging between Rs 4.12 lakh – Rs 6.12 lakh (ex-showroon Delhi).

“Both these features were found to be amongst the most desirable features in the Brio based on the customer’s feedback,” the company said.

The Honda Brio will be available in six variants -- EMT, EXMT, SMT, VMT, VXMT and VXAT.

Honda Cars India Ltd Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Jnaneswar Sen said, “Brio is a significant model for Honda in India as the car added more than 32,000 happy customers in the last fiscal year. We are pleased to announce upgrades to the Brio with added comfort and convenience in its segment which will appeal to the customers.”

The car is powered by a 4-cylinder 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine and gives fuel economy of 19.4 km/litre for manual transmission and 16.5 km/litre for automatic transmission, as per test data, the company said.

Does the Honda Brio MPV rendering Amaze you?

Honda Brio small car’s platform has already extended to sedan in the form of newly launched Amaze in India. Now, this same platform, is rumored to be used for a 7 seater MPV. Though, Honda is yet to confirm of any such MPV in the making, Deviantart member, geijutsutekinotenshi has penned down his imagination of Brio MPV.

ooking at the rendering (source) above, you can notice that it carries the same front and side-view as that in the Amaze. While, the rear seems rather disproportionate, probably due to the fact that it is based on Honda‘s CR-V.

Honda launched their first car with diesel engine in India last month. The 1.5L i-DTEC engine that powers the Amaze, delivers 100 PS power and 200 Nm torque, with an impressive mileage of 25.8 kmpl (making Amaze the most fuel efficient car in India). Obviously, the car is in great demand, and within the first three week’s of its launched, Honda amassed over 22,000 bookings for the same. With specs like these, it is difficult to contain this engine under the hood of just one car. Obviously Honda will want to take this engine to their other car’s, starting with Brio, Jazz, and City. Though Honda has not revealed anything solid, their MD, Hironori Kanayama has stated that they have begun their counter attack in the Indian auto industry. He even added that they are currently studying the market for small car’s and utility vehicles.
Honda’s road-map for India till 2015 reveals, the launch of Brio based MPV in second half of 2014, diesel models of City and new Jazz in 2014, Jazz based crossover in 2015, Brio with diesel engine, and domestic sales target of 200,000 units by 2015.

Exact asta-i ideea pe aceste piete inca tinere si in formare: 100% practic, 0% aere de pretentiosi.
