    Honda’s Urban SUV Concept

    http://paultan.org/2013/01/14/hondas...mages-surface/

Compact SUVs are now all the rage, and here’s what Honda’s future player could look like. The Japanese giant’s Urban SUV Concept was teased back in December 2012, but here are some official images that have surfaced ahead of the concept’s Detroit debut.
The Urban SUV a B-segment crossover based on the next-gen Jazz, and Honda says it’s “a global concept model combining a sporty and dynamic SUV profile with a spacious, functional interior.”
The most famous car of this sort is the Nissan Juke, while newer entries include the Peugeot 2008, Renault Captur and Chevrolet Trax. Ford has the EcoSport, a Fiesta-based SUV that has been recently caught testing in Thailand. Baby CR-V anyone?

Next up on the 2013 Detroit Auto Show embargo-break-a-palooza: the Honda Urban SUV Concept. Thanks to Indian Autos Blog, we now have the first press shots of the small crossover concept – a vehicle that will someday make it to production, riding on the Honda Fit platform.

It may have some big features – namely, the large headlamps, big wheels, and bold body lines – but the Urban SUV Concept will compete with smaller vehicles like the Nissan Juke or Fiat 500L. Indian Autos Blog reports that both 1.6- an 1.8-liter four-cylinder engines are being speculated for use in the production model, as well as a diesel powerplant for foreign markets.

That's all we know for now, but stay tuned to see the full smattering of official images and details as part of this week's Detroit coverage.

The first official pictures of Honda's new Detroit auto show-bound Urban SUV concept hit the web today showing the Japanese carmaker's study from two different angles. Honda hasn’t released a lot of information on the Urban Concept other than saying that it is "a global concept model combining a sporty and dynamic SUV profile with a spacious, functional interior."
Last fall, however, Honda's president Takanobu Ito revealed that the carmaker is developing a small SUV based on the next Fit/Jazz subcompact with the intent to have it in showrooms around the world by 2015. All intel points to the Urban being this model.
The Urban's primary rivals will be the Buick Encore and Nissan Juke in North America, and a multitude of sub-compact SUVs in other markets such as the newly presented Peugeot 2008, Renault Captur, Opel / Vauxhall Mokka and Chevrolet Trax in Europe.
Engine options will be shared with the next generation of the Jazz and will include diesel units in select markets.

Here are full pix and details of the Honda Urban SUV Concept, which previews a future global B-segment SUV based on the centre tank layout next generation Honda Jazz platform. It makes its global debut at Detroit 2013. It’s production competitors are cars like the Juke and EcoSport.

Honda also announced that the production car will go on sale in Japan by the end of this year, while other countries will receive it in sequential introductions.

Considering that Detroit is the location of its debut, Honda has announced North American availability. For North America, it will be built at Honda’s new plant in Mexico in Spring 2014, with sales to begin by the end of 2014.

Honda makes no specific mentions on powertrain except that it will be powered by Earth Dreams Technology, and that it will be available with three types of power – petrol, diesel as well as hybrid. You can read our write-up on Earth Dreams Technology to learn about Honda’s next gen powertrains.

    http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2013/01...debuts-in.html

The Honda Urban SUV Concept made its world premiere today at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. According to the Japanese automaker, its styling, which features clean, taut lines and “hidden” rear door handles, hints at a new small SUV that will be launched at the end of the year in Japan and in 2014 in North America. Measuring 4,300 mm (169.3 in) long, the new small SUV is 23 cm (9 in) shorter than the compact CR-V, under which it will slot in Honda’s crossover line-up.
It is based on the Global Compact Series platform, which includes the Jazz/Fit subcompact hatchback and the City saloon that’s sold in overseas markets and will use Honda’s fuel-efficient “Earth Dreams” powerplants.
Honda says the production version of the Urban SUV concept will feature “a modern interior and next-generation telematics”. It will also adopt the Fit’s center-fuel tank layout and its “Magic Seat” flexible rear-seat set-up that allows for many configurations based on passenger and load needs.
The production model will be manufactured at Honda's new plant near Celaya in Mexico, which is scheduled to begin operations in the spring of 2014 with an annual capacity of 200,000 units.

Pau Udo eu cam zic asa:
            - 1.8 i-VTEC (sau 2.0 i-VTEC)
            - 1.6 i-DTEC
            - 1.5 i-VTEC + IMA

Civicul "are" CR-V-ul, Jazz-ul va avea acest model, deci speram sa se pastreze paralelitatea asta si in privinta preturilor.

@daciliber.

In 2013 the fastest growing niche market seemed to be for small SUVs. Once upon a time there was the Honda HR-V. By 2013 we had the Nissan Juke, Vauxhall Mokka, Peugeot 2008, Renault Captur, with the Ford EcoSport, and new small VW Taigun SUV scheduled tor 2013/2015.

The all-new 'Honda Urban SUV Concept' made its world debut at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The concept hinted at the styling direction of an all-new small SUV scheduled to be launched in Japan at the end of 2013 and in the U.S. in 2014, eventually coming to Europe in 2015.

The Urban SUV Concept represents the expansion of vehicles that will be based on Honda’s new Global Compact Series platform, which include the Honda Fit (Jazz in Europe) and the Honda City.

The Urban SUV Concept, designed to provide aesthetic cues for an all-new small SUV, showcases clean and sophisticated styling, dynamic lines and a strong stance. The small SUV will be rolled out across the world and will be powered by Honda’s fuel-efficient Earth Dreams Technology. The new model will utilise Honda’s original centre-tank layout that features on the Honda Jazz and will also incorporate Honda’s famous Magic Seats that enable a range of seating configurations for maximum versatility.

Could be a recipent for Honda's new 1.6iDTEC diesel engine.

The small SUV will be manufactured at Honda’s newest North American plant near Celaya, Mexico.

Honda Vezel – Jazz-based SUV debuts in Tokyo

                          http://paultan.org/2013/11/20/honda-vezel-tokyo/

Konichiwa from Tokyo! We’re at Honda’s 2013 Tokyo Motor Show stand, where the carmaker has just pulled the covers off its B-segment SUV based on the third-gen Honda Jazz.

Previewed by the Urban SUV Concept in January, the productionised car is called the Honda Vezel, and it’s claimed to fuse together the “dynamic qualities of an SUV, the elegance of a coupe and the functionality of a minivan”.

Japan will get both hybrid and petrol versions – the hybrid model, pictured here, is equipped with the one-motor Sport Hybrid i-DCD system, which means it should share the same 110 PS/134 Nm 1.5 litre i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle engine, the same 29.5 PS/160 Nm electric motor, the same seven-speed twin-clutch ‘box and a lithium-ion battery.

More details about the Honda Vezel will be announced on December 19, and the vehicle will go on sale in its home market the following day. The burgeoning B-segment crossover brigade includes the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Chevrolet Trax, Ford EcoSport and Peugeot 2008.

                          More pictures coming soon!
